The Workout: Dirty 30 EXTREME
The original Dirty 30 workout was intense, so I was expecting something ridiculously challenging for the Dirty 30 EXTREME. My expectations were accurate. Autumn seriously outdoes herself in this one and takes it up a notch with every exercise. One of the more challenging moves from the original Dirty 30 workout were the Renegade Rows. In the EXTREME version, we have Push Up Rows. You balance yourself on your weights in plank position, do a push up, and then do a Renegade Row. Doing that for an entire minute is definitely extreme!
There’s a lot of shoulder exercises in this one too, my favorite being the Half Moon Curtsey. Hold weights above your head, and while doing a Curtsey Lunge, lower the weights to your sides in an arching motion.
The Meals: EXTREME Eating Plan
Shakeology + banana (1 red + 1 purple)
peppers + pea pods + hummus (1 green + 1/2 blue)
mexican chicken quinoa veggie casserole with guacamole (1 red + 1 green + 1/2 purple + 1 yellow + 1/2 blue)
As much as I’m loving the fact hot sauce is allowed on the Countdown to Competition Eating Plan, I sure do miss salsa. So for lunch I sauteed some onions and peppers and tossed that in with a brown rice and quinoa mixture, leftover Southwest Seasoned chicken from the day before, and salsa. I topped it with some guacamole and it was a quick, spicy and filling lunch.
buffalo chicken + brussels sprouts (2 red + 1 green + 1/2 yellow)
One of our favorite meals! I made it a little more 21DFX-friendly by omitting the vegan butter.
